Men's Skin Care with special needs – is a guy thing
Make no mistake. The average guy does not pay much attention her skin, except it has an obvious problem as ingrown hairs, sebum excess, or dry skin and sensitive. The advent of skin care and bath / body for men is a relatively new phenomenon, and most men are not equipped to decode the array of product choices and used to understand how they can actually benefit from a regular meeting skincare. To complicate matters, most products shopping for men are made with ingredients that may aggravate their skin problems and even worse!
Men's skin is is 20% to 30% thicker than women because of excess collagen and elastin, and their facial hair glands produce more oil, so many men suffer from oily skin. The main difference is that the skin care needs of a man running around a daily shave routine which poses its own special needs. The act of shaving one can be abrasive to the skin as it removes the top layers of dead skin cells, leaving very sensitive skin (razor burn). Add to that oil, clogged pores and coarse hairs that create bumps when, instead of increasing right of the follicle, they wrap around and re-enter the skin, and you have a difficult situation that can be prevented or treated effectively if you have a good daily grooming regime.
Your routine does not need to be complicated, just one followed consistently. The four key steps in the routine care of healthy skin is clean, exfoliate, tone and moisturize. Understand why each of these necessary steps can also help you identify the right products to use at each step and what to avoid.
1. Purify
Cleaning is essential to controlling oily skin, balancing your skin's ability to regulate sebum production and prevent pore clogging. Paradoxically, many cleaning products are made with harsh detergents that strip the skin of all its oil, which leave it feeling dry and dull, which in turn causes your sebaceous glands to work harder to compensate for the loss of natural oils. The result is the production of excess oil that brings you straight to the problem you are trying to solve.
Use cleaners with Castile soap – usually made from coconut and olive oils – which are very soft and gentle on your skin. If you have dry skin or combination, try a creamy cleanser. We recommend combining equal amounts of our database of Castile Body Wash Cleanser and Nourishing Hand & Body Lotion. For sensitive skin or irritated try the Soothing mixture containing chamomile and lavender. For a sense of fresh mint and clean try Refresh. If bar soaps are your preference, use one that is based glycerin soap made with super-greasy moisturizing cream rich as shea or cocoa butter.
2. Exfoliate
Regular exfoliation helps to unclog pores, which is essential to the fight cons acne. In addition to allowing a closer shave (and fewer ingrown hairs by lifting the whiskers on the surface of the skin), use Regular exfoliation will improve the appearance and texture of the skin by removing dead skin cells to expose more recent smoother ones below. Choose a scrub made of sugar, salt scrubs sweet like jojoba beads to increase its share driven without abrading the skin.
This step must be performed before shaving to ensure a better, smoother shave. The shaver is sharper and more it has access to your skin, the less pressure you apply when you shave. This decrease irritation and redness and ingrown hairs prevent. Make sure to use a lubricant shaving cream or lotion to prevent scratches. Again, the combination of gentle cleansing Body Wash hands and nourishing & Body Lotion works very well for this particular mixture in the revitalization with its combination of rosemary, cedar and citrus essential oils.
3. Tone
Resist the temptation or habit of using a treatment with alcohol after shaving! This will only worsen already irritated skin. A good toner should calm and soothe irritated or inflamed skin, rebalance the pH of your skin and tighten pores without drying skin – which is what alcohol does.
Your best bet is a toner that contains witch hazel (a natural astringent), glycerin Plant (humectant), Aloe (to normalize the skin), and essential oils of lavender, chamomile and cedar wood, or a hydrosol lavender. Visit the blog for a recipe drops of toner, you can make yourself.
4. Moisten
After cleaning and shaving, apply a moisturizer. Use a herbal lotion or moisturizer with light-based anti-oxidant rich oils jojoba, grapeseed, high-oleic sunflower or safflower, coconut oil. Avoid products with synthetic ingredients or petroleum which are actually more drying and can put you at risk of toxic exposure to prolonged repetitive use. Or you can try Boo Boo the Blend, a blend of essential oil of Lavender, Tea Tree, Geranium, Chamomile and pure essential oils that can be used treat minor cuts, scrapes, bumps and pimples.
